–Jennifer Lopez celebrated turning 52 by showing off her insane body in a series of photos — one of which included Ben Affleck. He was also featured in Leah Remini‘s bday tribute video. This has all led to lots of (justifiable) chatter about how quickly she’s made him hot by association.

–Sarah Ferguson appears on the cover of Town & Country and talks about not being invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s wedding (“I didn’t think I was probably worthy to go to their wedding. I took myself to Thailand, actually, to be far away from it so that I could try and heal”), how she was portrayed in the tabloids (“It was always that Diana was portrayed as the saint and I was portrayed as the sinner. Bad Fergie sold an awful lot of papers”) and her thoughts on Diana (“I believe that Diana would be so proud of her boys…and she’d be so proud of her grandchildren”).

-Meanwhile, the royal line of succession has been updated to officially include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s daughter Lilibet Diana.

-I go away for a week and now Jason Sudeikis and Irina Shayk might be a thing?

-Most people didn’t even know that Issa Rae was in a longterm relationship – let alone that she was about to drop some surprise wedding pics. The dress is much more traditional that I would have guessed, but Vera Wang is back to being all the rage these days.

–Anna Faris also had a secret wedding.

–Jamie Lynn Spears keeps trying to set the record straight about where she stands with sister Britney Spears, and keeps making it worse.

-Meanwhile, Britney and her lawyers laid out their case in new legal docs as to why her father should be removed as conservator of her estate. I’m surprised she filed a petition to replace him rather than end the conservatorship altogether, but that’s probably coming.

-Covid-related delays is cost a lot of productions money — but it might cost The Morning Show more than most. Their insurance company doesn’t want to cover all the delays, triggering a $44M lawsuit.

-Speaking of Apple+ shows, Ted Lasso’s season two premiere drew lots of eyeballs.

-If you follow writer Twitter, you’d know that there’s a lot of chatter about how little assistants are getting paid in Hollywood. Sophia Bush says that on Chicago PD, the PAs were only getting $500/week.

–Pink offered to pay a 1,500-Euro fine issued to Norway’s beach handball team after the women wore athletic shorts instead of bikini bottoms to protest against sexism.

-I always thought LFO seemed like just another boy band at the time but the story behind them is surprisingly tragic.

–Angelina Jolie got a big win in her custody battle against Brad Pitt.

-This oral history of Clifford, the 1994 comedy about a deranged little boy played by Martin Short, made me realize how beloved this weird little movie is. The part where Nic Cage can’t get through talking about a scene because he’s laughing to hard remembering it is gold.

-Here’s the first full trailer for the Dexter reboot. There’s no way this thing is going to be good, but I can feel myself getting sucked in solely on morbid curiosity.

–Nicole Kidman, Michael Shannon and Melissa McCarthy star in the trailer for the upcoming Hulu show Nine Perfect Strangers.

–Shailene Woodley covers THR, and says she and Aaron Rodgers were engaged a while before announcing it. “When we announced that we were engaged, we wanted to do that only because we didn’t want someone else to do it before we did,” Woodley says. “And we didn’t do it for months and months after we had become engaged, but the reaction to it was really a lot, and so we were like, ‘Let’s just politely decline [to talk about the relationship] for a little while and live in our little bubble.'” I’m not sure why she’d want to reintroduce speculation about their relationship timeline when it had finally died down, but here we are again.

-The Brampton-born star of Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, is on the cover of EW to talk about the new season.

–Megan Fox says she made a pro/con list before agreeing to date Machine Gun Kelly. What could possibly have been on the pro list?

-The filmmaker behind the Anthony Bourdain documentary Roadrunner sounds like he made some odd choices. There’s a surprise AI recreation of Bourdain’s  voice. He also decided not to pursue an interview with his girlfriend at the time of his death, Asia Argento.

–Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa claim that HBO once gave their Sopranos costar James Gandolfini $3 million to turn down an offer to replace Steve Carell on The Office — even though the Sopranos had ended.

–Jason Sudeikis keeps Ted Lasso-ing. He showed support for England footballers Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Bukayo Saka at the show’s premiere.

–Courtney Stodden is praising the way Jason Biggs apologized to her.

-I love that a Variety reporter tried to tell Tatum O’Neal that her Twitter had been hacked, and her agent responded that “she doesn’t have time for this right now.”

–Normani and Cardi B’s “Wild Side” is here, and Normani’s choro remains impressive.

–Johnny Rotten is trying to stop other members of The Sex Pistols from allowing their music to be used in Danny Boyle’s new FX series Pistol.

-I have very hard to get into Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave because everyone finds it so funny, but it is decidedly Not For Me™. Still, this piece about how they did the coffin flops is good.

-Loki season 1 director Kate Herron is moving on from the series.

–Addison Rae introduced herself to Trump at UFC 264, and her fans aren’t happy.

-Ruh roh. A script leaked for the Sex and the City reboot. I only care how they’re writing Samantha out.

–Dan Harmon is making noise again about a possible Community movie.

–Amber Heard showed off a new photo of her daughter Oonagh, writing “I’m just the mom and the dad. She’s the boss.”

–Jason Momoa vows to protect his daughter after his wife dies in the Sweet Girl trailer.

-I love this profile on Ted Lasso costars and friends Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple. They talk masculinity, sports, and how Waddingham considers Temple a “fairy godmother unicorn” to her daughter.

-Meanwhile, one thing that came up repeatedly in Jason Sudeikis’ GQ profile is how much like Ted Lasso his friends think he is. Here’s more proof: a journalist shared an email that Sudeikis had written him after their interview three years ago, in which the reporter mentioned that he’d recently lost his dad. It is the most heartwarming, positive, Lasso-esque thing ever. “It’s important and fucking necessary for us human beings to do that. To connect. To share. And to not concern ourselves too much with the outcome of such bravery. Especially the men of the world. Our generation is the first to “understand” that notion, but darn it, I’d love to try and be the first generation of fellas to “live” the notion as well.”

-This is a great deep dive into the inexplicable allure of Pete Davidson.

-In court yesterday, Britney Spears said she wants to charge her father with conservatorship abuse. “I want to press charges against my father today. I want an investigation into my dad….I was always extremely scared of my dad.” She also said her hair vitamins and coffee have been confiscated (“Ma’am, that’s not abuse, that’s just f*cking cruelty. Excuse my language, but it’s the truth”). She gave a shout out to the #FreeBritney movement and used the hashtag for the first time.

–Ashton Kutcher said Mila Kunis convinced him to give up his Virgin Galactic ticket. “My wife basically encouraged that it was not a smart family decision to be heading into space when we have young children.”

-I’ve always liked Chrissy Teigen but her latest post is nuts. We’re all emotionally battered from the pandemic, Cubans are starving, Nasa is warning that the moon is wobbling, and she’s over here making posts complaining about being “cancelled”??!? First, if your platform includes 34M Insta followers and 13M Twitter followers, you are anything but cancelled. Second, I will never understand celebrities who don’t seem to have friends they can complain about this shit with in a group chat, rather than airing it all in public.

-The reviews for Apple’s Schmigadoon are decidedly mixed, but I’m still looking forward to it.

-YouTuber and TikToker Hunter “Echo” Ecimovic did an Instagram livestream on Tuesday, saying that he “groomed” Mille Bobbie Brown. She’s having none of it.

-Netflix might be getting into the video games business.

-I love that Kat Graham is in Cannes. She was the best thing about The Vampire Diaries and I only want good things for her.

-Love Actually and Sanditon actor Kris Marshall apologized for his ‘offensive and insensitive’ comments after Death in Paradise exit. He said that he felt his son was becoming “a bit too Caribbean” after spending three years on the island of Guadeloupe.

-I know people really liked the Loki finale, but that was extremely unsatisfying to me. It felt more like a big setup for the future of the MCU, rather than the conclusion of the story they were trying to tell. A show that has — up until this point — been so centered on Loki had a finale that just….wasn’t. (The guest star killed it though.)
