The Supernatural Brothers Are Back to Fighting — This Time, Each Other

-Why are CW actors being so messy this week? Jared Padalecki says he’s ‘gutted’ he found out about Jensen Acklesplanned Supernatural prequel through Twitter last night. Yikes. I mean, I always assume costars who pretend to be BFFs aren’t really IRL, but Ackles could have texted him. And the CW, where Padalecki is headlining Walker, should also have also given him a heads up. Of course, instead of reacting in front of the whole world, Padalecki could have texted instead. This whole situation is not cool.

Padalecki posted an update this afternoon, tweeting Jensen Ackles and I had a great talk, as we do often, and things are good. The show is early in the process with miles to go. We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps. Bumps don’t stop us. Once brothers, always brothers.”

-Surprisingly non-messy CW actor Ian Somerhalder had a lovey fan encounter and shouted out Halifax for her.

Jodie Turner-Smith tweeted that she nearly missed her flight home from Italy and the airport greeter told her, “I know who is your husband, all of Italy understands why you need to get home to him.” Truth.

-Experts say Britney Spears could remain under conservatorship for years.

-Black creators on TikTok are on indefinite “strike”, refusing to choreograph a dance for Megan Thee Stallion‘s “Thot Shit” on the app because they know white creators are just going to appropriate it without compensation or credit.

-See, this is why I’m weary of all the stories of John Boyega being “difficult”. How come is Twitter account is suddenly unverified? This jerk got kicked off a plane for verbally abusing his wife, and he’s still blue-checkmarked. (I’m still not over it.)

-I’m guessing the bouncer who wouldn’t let Rihanna into the club because she didn’t have ID on her is no longer a bouncer.

Kanye West is suing Walmart for ripping off his footwear.

-The Gossip Girl reboot has the cast dressed as Beyonce and Solange on the night of the legendary elevator fight. I’m suddenly interested.

-As Conan O’Brien signs off from his TBS show, Vulture asked 12 comedians to talk about his influence. Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, Nicole Byer, D’Arcy Carden, Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Pally and more paid tribute.

-The wait to see Dune just got a bit longer — again. It’s going from an Oct. 1 release to Oct. 22 on HBO Max and in theaters.

Megan Fox finds herself handcuffed to her dead husband in the trailer for ‘Till Death.

-The trailer for Schmigadoon, in which Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key play a couple who go hiking and end up in a musical, has me excited for its debut.

Jennifer Aniston: ‘I’m just a very fortunate and blessed human being’

-The Morning Show promo tour is in full swing, with Jennifer Aniston covering the latest issue of People. “I’m in a really peaceful place. I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me, and I have beautiful dogs.”

Aniston also did an interview with Howard Stern, during which she squashed the rumors of tensions between her and Brad Pitt (“Brad and I are buddies; we’re friends”), and insisted nothing romantic ever happened between her and David Schwimmer (“I would proudly say I banged Schwimmer if that happened. But no”).

-Sources tell People that Britney Spears was “very nervous about speaking in front of the judge” yesterday but insisted on doing it because “this is her life and she wants big changes.” Audio of her testimony was posted on Youtube, and despite stammering a bit and talking really fast, she sounded articulate and in control.

-Meanwhile, despite his immense contribution to how she’s been treated, Justin Timberlake tweeted: “Jess and I send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time. We hope the courts, and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.” Perez Hilton also tried to get in on the action with some empathetic tweets. Look, as someone who has a messy past with celebrity coverage, I get that we’re all reckoning with our role in all of this. Or we’re supposed to be. But these two seemingly having zero self-awareness, instead pretending they didn’t have a hand in what’s happened to her.

-You thought Gigi Hadid’s pasta cabinets were bad? Cara Delevingne opened the doors of her new LA home and showed off her vagina tunnel, ball pit, hat room, Playboy arcade game, David Bowie shrine and the razor scooter she zips around on so the hard floors don’t hurt her feet. “Hugh Hefner is a big inspiration in this house.” I can’t stop watching this video.

-I love this story about a little boy who was sent to the principal because the kept insisting “Superman is my uncle” — and then his uncle Henry Cavill came to pick him up.

-So it sounds like that Deux Moi blind from a couple of weeks ago might have been onto something– according to THR, John Boyega walked off the set of Netflix’s Rebel Ridge mid-shoot due to issues such as the script and his accommodations. Filmmakers reportedly discovered he left when they went to his hotel and found he had checked out. (His agent denies this and says he left due to family issues.) This is so tough because, if true, it’s such a bad look. But Hollywood has a long history of blacklisting black actors with an undeserved “difficult” label, so it’s hard to just accept this story at face value.

Shia LaBeouf and his ex-wife Mia Goth were spotted arm-in-arm at Disneyland.

Sharon Stone was not impressed when she asked what it was like to work with Meryl Streep: “You didn’t say, ‘Meryl finally got to work with Sharon Stone.’ Or we finally got to work together…Viola Davis is every bit the actress Meryl Streep is. Emma Thompson. Judy Davis. Olivia Colman. Kate Winslet, for f**k’s sake. But you say Meryl and everybody falls on the floor.”

-Even Rihanna can’t convince me that fuzzy bucket hats should be back in style. Unless your name is Cher Horowitz, I don’t approve.

-The Good Fight’s season five premiere takes a wild stab at recapping 2020. (It premieres today on CBS All Access, and July 1 here in Canada on the W Network).

-Blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.

-Here a good read on why Kenya Barris‘s Netflix deal (the biggest overall deal in comedy) unraveled.

-Mumford and Sons lead guitarist and banjoist Winston Marshall recently came under scrutiny for his support of a right-wing provocateur. Now, he’s leaving the band so he can “speak freely” about the “evils of political extremism.” Buh-bye!

Vin Diesel said he feuded with The Rock to push his acting “where it needed to be,” saying “We had to get there and sometimes, at that time, I could give a lot of tough love. Not Felliniesque, but I would do anything I’d have to do in order to get performances in anything I’m producing.” I don’t know what’s funnier: that Vin Diesel thinks he’s qualified to give acting advise, or that he cited Fellini.

James McAvoy and Sharon Horgan star as a couple forced to re-evaluate their relationship in lockdown in BBC’s Together. I wanna watch this so badly!

-Netflix puts a new spin on the Old West in the trailer for The Harder They Fall — with a stacked cast that includes Regina King, Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, LaKeith Stanfield, and Delroy Lindo.

Britney Spears Demands Her Life Back: “I’m So Angry, It’s Insane”

-After years of silence, Britney Spears testified remotely today about her conservatorship for the first time in open court, and she came out with guns blazing. She said “After I’ve told the whole world I’m okay, it’s a lie. I’m not happy, I can’t sleep, I’m depressed, I cry every day” and “The people who did this to me should not be able to get away and walk away easily.” She also said she did her last tour “out of fear,” compared her father to a sex trafficker: (“He loved the control he had over me, one hundred thousand percent”) and said she wants another baby but isn’t allowed to (“I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out”).

Mariah Carey tweeted out her support to Spears.

-Speaking of female celebs who were treated badly in the 00s, Mischa Barton thinks it’s time she gets her own docuseries.

Drake Bell pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges relating to a girl who was 15-years-old at the time of allegations.

Harrison Ford injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene for Indiana Jones 5. The film schedule will be reconfigured in the coming weeks to shoot around him.

Stephen Amell was removed from his flight after an altercation with wife (though he insists he wasn’t forced off, tweeting “My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did. Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed”). He then followed up with a tweet that did not include an apology or contrition, but instead said “Must be a slow news cycle.” I followed this guy’s socials for years until last year’s tone deaf BLM video, and I’d grown increasingly worried that he needed help. (It also sucks to see a bunch of his fans blaming his wife and friends for being a bad influence. The dude is 40; his actions are on him.)

-Speaking of his friends, his close buddy Aisha Tyler (who hosted his ATX panel last weekend and was possibly on the plane with him when everything went down) unfollowed him and posted an Instagram graphic that says “Don’t Be a Dick.”

-Meanwhile, if you’ve gotten kicked off a plane for being belligerent and drunk, maybe cancel your pre-scheduled post about booze?

-Did Bennifer swap exes? JLo’s ex Alex Rodriguez was spotted hanging out with Ben Affeck‘s ex, Lindsay Shookus.

Justin and Hailey Bieber met French President Emmanuel Macron, and Hailey’s outfit raised eyebrows.

Avril Lavigne is now on TikTok. I remain in awe about how she appears to be aging backwards.

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have reportedly broken up.

Billie Eilish has apologized after an old video of her surfaced using a racial slur.

-This deep dive into the reboot of Gossip Girl is a great read. “Too many actors came in wanting to play a version of Blair or Serena. Many auditioned in headbands.”

-NBC’s just-canceled Manifest recently premiered on Netflix and quickly claimed the top spot on their “Top 10″ list — but Netflix has declined to save it.

-In Netflix’s new music docu-series This is Pop, T-Pain says he became depressed after his friend Usher told him he “f*cked up music.”

-Netflix is officially out of good ideas: check out the bizarre trailer for Sexy Beasts, a new dating show where real-life singles sport elaborate makeup and prosthetics to put true blind-date chemistry to the test.

-After Warner Bros’ weird promo strategy of only releasing tiny clips of James Gunn’s Suicide Squad as a pre-roll ads for Youtube videos, the full trailer is finally here.
