Joker Bans Press from Premiere Red Carpet

-And the hits just keep coming for Joker. They just dis-invited interview press from the red carpet at this weekend’s premiere. I don’t understand how you make a movie and spend weeks talking about how gritty and realistic it is, and then be COMPLETELY unprepared to answer questions about how it might trigger violence?

-Meanwhile, director Todd Phillips once again shit on comic book films. He’s not making one of those, you see. Oh no, he’s making a “real” movie. He told The Wrap, “I literally described to Joaquin at one point in those three months as like, ‘Look at this as a way to sneak a real movie in the studio system under the guise of a comic book film’. It wasn’t, ‘We want to glorify this behavior.’ It was literally like ‘Let’s make a real movie with a real budget and we’ll call it f–ing Joker’.” Seriously, doesn’t he realize that comic fanboys are their target demo?

Noah Centineo and Dancing with the Stars alum Alexis Ren are dating. Look, I know everyone’s mad he’s not with Lana Condor in real life but  let’s just be happy for him. It can’t be easy to find someone willing to put up with that Spencer Pratt-y beard.

George and Amal Clooney celebrated their 5th anniversary in NYC with BFFs Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford. Five years! I’ve repressed almost all of them…

Kanye West‘s album is expected to drop tonight, just in case you don’t have any plans and want to torture yourself with a reminder of how good he used to be.

Frankie Muniz is a Lizzo fan, which makes me a Frankie Muniz fan.

-Netflix’s The Politician drops today, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Platt, and critics mostly like it.

-No one is watching TV anymore, huh? NBC’s new comedies bombed last night. Perfect Harmony only got a 0.5 in the 18-49 demo, and Sunnyside did even worse at 0.4. That’s BAD. (I remember some of the CW superhero shows I watch coming at at 0.4 last season and I cringed. And that was bad FOR THE CW!)

-This is an excellent outfit on Katie Holmes. It’s like she’s going to take over the corporate world but also maybe have a bath first.

-Well well well. Spider-Man is staying in the MCU — for now. Disney and Sony struck a deal for one more movie.

Natalie Portman made fun of her new Lady Thor look on Ellen.

-I’m actually surprised that Vampire Diaries’ stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley like each other enough to launch a bourbon line together.

Helen Mirren plays Catherine The Great in the trailer for the upcoming HBO miniseries.
