Tom Holland Steps Up to Help Fan

-Not all heroes wear capes; some wear tights. Tom Holland protected a fan when pro autograph hunters and the paps got too pushy. “It’s okay I got you I got you,” is very sweet.

-Also, Tom told an adorable story about how he tried to work out with Jake Gyellenhaal and it didn’t end well for him.

-It looks like it’s shaping up to be the weekend of celebrities who eloped having big do-over ceremonies in France. First Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, and now Zoe Kravitz and Karl Glusman are expected to re-confirm their “I do’s”.

-Uh oh. Pamela Anderson posted an IG photo with a caption about how her soccer player boyfriend of two years cheated on her. “I was scammed, led to believe … we were in « big love »? I’m devastated to find out in the last few days.That he was living a double life. He used to joke about other players who had girlfriends down the street in apartments close to their wives. He called those men monsters. ? But this is worse. He lied to all. How is it possible to control 2 women’s hearts and minds like this”

-With her hair curly like this, Mariah Carey looks like she time-traveled back to her Butterfly days. I mean, the Benjamin Button-ing might be the result of other stuff but I prefer to assume it’s solely based on her hair.

-Ryan Murphy’s first big Netflix project will be a feature adaptation of the Tony-nominated stage musical The Prom, starring Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman and Ariana Grande, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key and Andrew Rannells.

-Speaking of big gets for Netflix, George Clooney is set to direct and star in a movie for them. (Real talk: can you believe that George produced and starred in a TV show last month and it didn’t even make a ripple on the pop culture radar? 2019 is wild, y’all.)

-It’s not all good news for the streamer. Netflix just lost rights to The Office, which will being streaming exclusively on NBCUniversal’s service in 2021. So it begins.

-I like this list of the best TV moments of the year so far. They get bonus points for including the Hot Priest’s “love is awful” speech.

-I’m not a big fan of cancel culture but Morrissey is totally cancelled, right?!

–Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston posted the same photo today with the caption “soon” and Breaking Bad fans are freaking out.

–Taylor Swift‘s new single still can’t topple “Old Town Road” from the top of the charts.

-Oh no, Judi Dench! She defended Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey‘s work: “Are we going to negate 10 years at the Old Vic [the London theater where Spacey served as artistic director] and everything that he did – how wonderful he’s been in all those films? Are we just not going to see all those films that Harvey produced?” Sure, she can appreciate their past work but maybe let’s not forget the alleged hell they put others through when they were doing said work.

-The new Bond movie continues to be cursed. A man was arrested and charged with voyeurism for allegedly putting a hidden camera in a studio restroom.

-Me: media, stop doing this real life shipping stuff cause it’s creepy. Also me: They’re not wrong.

-This is a really interesting article on how the cartoonist who created the “this is fine” dog struggled to regain control over it after it became a meme.

–Dr. Phil of all people spoiled Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner‘s wedding date. Diplo must feel pretty vindicated right now.

-The wedding is rumoured to be taking place this weekend in Paris, where Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra were already spotted.

-This is terrifying: a man pretended to be the owner of Halle Berry’s house by printing up a fake deed and having the locks changed. He got as far as one lock before the jig was up.

–Rihanna‘s Fenty popup store featured curvy mannequins and the internet gobbled it up.

–Obama was photographed in a boat with George Clooney while visiting the actor in Italy.

-I like Miley Cyrus but Nicki Minaj calling her “a Perdue chicken” is a very solid diss.

-Everyone’s making a big deal out of Brad Falchuk and Gwyneth Paltrow only living together four nights a week, but that sounds like the perfect arrangement to me!

–Samuel L. Jackson was quick to point out that in the Spider-Man: Far From Home poster, his character’s eye patch belongs on the left eye, rather than the right.

–Maggie Gyllenhaal is sick of answering #MeToo questions about her Deuce costar James Franco: “Yeah, that annoys me. I have been asked to answer for him and I have nothing to do with it. But I feel like it’s important to continue making the show. I feel like a political wife or something. I don’t like that.”

-Years and Years, a 6-episode series which debuts on HBO tonight and stars Emma Thompson and Russell Tovey, is getting raves.

-Friends alums Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow had a girls’ night out this weekend.

-A group of lawyers representing Soundgarden, the estate of the Tupac Shakur, and the late-Tom Petty’s ex-wife have filed a class-action lawsuit against Universal Music Group, seeking damages for the fire that destroyed more than 500,000 archived master audio recordings.

-The trailer for Meek Mills docuseries Free Meek , featuring Jay Z and others talking about the rapper’s insanely unfair legal battles, has dropped.

-I am now “I barely recognized anyone at the BET Awards” years old.

Rihanna Day Drinks with Seth Meyers

-Yeah, the Rihanna segment on Seth Meyers‘ show was a good as expected. (Not as good as Kelly Clarkson’s, but that’s an impossibly high bar to clear). The part where she gives advice about how to woo his wife is the best. Meyers talks about what went into setting it up here.

–Drake is starting rumours about that Rihanna tat again.

–Tom Hanks gave Tom Holland some valuable acting advice on the Graham Norton Show.

–Troye Sivan answered Vogue’s 73 Questions.

-This is a pretty cool feature on the future of the movie industry, with interviews from with the Russo Brothers, Kumail Nanjian, Ava DuVernay and more. The Russo talk about having trouble getting their character-driven film Cherry greenlit, even though they’re coming off the massive success of Endgame. They also talk about how young people are trained to watch YouTube or binge hours of Netflix, but won’t commit to two hours of story-driven movies.

–Anna Paquin joins the cast in the trailer for the final season of The Affair.

–Kate Beckinsale doing squats over a toilet is a mood.

-The Red Sonja is back on track, with Transparent creator Jill Soloway replacing Bryan Singer as the director.
