-It’s been a big week for baby news. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby boy via surrogate.
-Also, Kim is quietly funding a legal team that has helped 17 prisoners gain freedom over the last three months. The people released were serving life in prison sentences for low-level drug offenses.
-It was a bloody day for network TV. ABC cancelled Speechless, The Kids Are Alright and Splitting Up Together, CBS cancelled Fam, Happy Together, Life In Pieces, Murphy Brown; Fox cancelled Lethal Weapon, The Cool Kids and The Passage, NBC cancelled I Feel Bad.
-I like this piece on how Game Of Thrones has relegated its female characters to the same lazy archetypes it once tried to avoid.
-This is also a great thread on how the writing on GoT has changed.
-I also like this piece on in the time of Me Too, the higher the profile, the harder it is to get corporations that benefit from their work to take women’s claims seriously. Now, the opposite seems to be happening.
-Marvel was so freaked out about Tom Holland giving away spoilers that they told him that Endgame’s last scene was a wedding.
