Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner Cover Rolling Stone

-I truly don’t understand the GoT fandom (or at least the portion that I follow on Twitter). Rolling Stone’s cover story with Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner dropped, and my TL immediately turned into a whole lot of fighting between Arya and Sansa stans. I don’t get it, especially because the interview is a delight. I love Maisie’s frequent f-bombs (“I thought I wasn’t a feminist if my favorite color was pink. And then I decided that’s fucking stupid”) and the oh-so-casual way Sophie reveals that’s she’s dated girls (“Everyone experiments. It’s part of growing up. I love a soul, not a gender”).

-This Pushing Diasies reunion made my heart swell. God, I loved that show.

-The Jussie Smollett saga may have ended — and we still have no idea what really happened. All 16 felony charges against him have been dropped and his record wiped clean. It’s interesting to note that there was no plea deal; the case against him has just ended. Smollett told the press “I have been truthful and consistent on every level since day one.” Fox TV released a statement saying they are “gratified that all charges against him have been dismissed.” Meanwhile Chicago police and the city’s mayor denounced prosecutors for dropping the charges, saying “We have a lot more evidence than we told the media about and we were fully prepared to go to trial. We’re very angry this happened.”

–Keanu Reeves rode 2 hours in a van with fellow stranded airplane passengers and kept everyone’s spirits high, reading out fun facts about the cities they were driving through and playing country music native to the area. The world truly doesn’t deserve him.

-Marvel just released 32 new character posters for Avengers: Endgame and they reveal that Shuri was dusted offscreen.

-Also, there’s a new Endgame featurette.

–Meghan Markle once shot a pilot for Comedy Central titled The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down, costarring Adam Pally and Max Greenfield, and now it might get released a decade later.

–Justin Bieber called out an Instagram user for slamming his marriage to Hailey Baldwin.

–Cardi B addressed her controversial remarks about drugging and robbing men when she worked as a stripper: “I made the choices I did at the time because I had very limited options.”

–Fan Bingbing, the world’s biggest movie star, vanished without a trace last year. But it was what happened next that sent a shudder through the Chinese film industry. Vanity Fair’s investigation into it is a fascinating read.

-They’ve only aired 4 of the 12 episodes of the current season so far, but Better Things has already been renewed!

–Hugh Dancy is joining his wife for the final season of Homeland. I had no idea this show was still on.

-Now that Hollywood has released that agents who represent writers are getting paid to do nothing, what happens if writers fire their agents en masse?

–Noah Centineo is the man of everyone’s dreams in Netflix’s The Perfect Date trailer.

Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph Talk Comedy, Bechdel Tests

-I honestly cannot wait for Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph‘s Netflix comedy Wine Country, and their Vanity Fair feature makes me even more excited.

–Jennifer Lawrence and Adele delighted onlookers this weekend when they turned up to play drinking games at a gay bar in the West Village. I always forget that they’ve been friends for a while.

–Barbra Streisand had to clarify her Michael Jackson remarks after the backlash, saying she feels ‘nothing but sympathy” for the victims.

-I thought the trailers were really iffy, so I’m surprised by the glowing reviews Shazam is getting.

–Shane West attended his A Walk to Remember costar Mandy Moore‘s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, which warms my cold cold heart.

-Mel B confirmed she and Geri Halliwell had a brief fling during the Spice Girls’ glory days. “(Geri) is going to hate me for this because she is all posh in her country house and her husband, but it’s a fact. It just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it.”

–Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck publicly feuded on The View, but in her new book O’Donnell admits to crushing on her cohost. “I think there were underlying lesbian undertones on both parts.”

-Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before was directed by a female, but a dude gets the sequel.

-The fifth and final season of Jane the Virgin debuts Wednesday and the reviews of the final batch of episodes are gushingly positive.

-Meanwhile, while Phoebe Waller-Bridge leaving Killing Eve, the reviews for season 2 aren’t as across-the-board positive as they were in the first season.

-I’ll never be brave enough to watch it, but I love that Jordan Peele‘s Us had a historic weekend at the box office.

-These two little kids did a cover of Radiohead’s Creep on The Voice Germany and I can’t stop listening to it.

-The rumours that Avengers: Endgame might actually be 3 hours long are gaining traction. FML.

-18 years ago today Bjork wore the swan dress to the Oscars. Never forget!

-Apple trotted out a bunch of big name (mostly white) celebrities to announce their new TV offering today — but we didn’t learn much. It will launch on Apple devices and smart TVs in the fall (meaning they’ll miss this year’s Emmy eligibility). It will be ad-free, VOD (everything downloadable), get new titles added every month, and also allow you to watch your other paid TV subscription services like Hulu and Amazon Prime. But there was no word on pricing, when each show will debut, whether all episodes of said shows will drop at once, etc. But hey, Oprah is doing a couple of documentaries and a book club for them so…yay?

-Also, it’s crazy that they didn’t show trailers for any of their new shows — just a quick sizzle reel even though series like The Morning Show, starring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell, has apparently already filmed. And having Steven Spielberg there to shill for Apple’s new streaming service in light of his Netflix stance was beyond odd.

–Legends of Tomorrow returns next week and I honestly can’t wait. This show is pure joy.

Supernatural Coming to an End

-I don’t watch Supernatural and even I’m shocked by the news that it’s ending. I thought that show would outlast us all. It’s making me really curious what The CW’s plan is, as it’s now letting go of a big chunk of its trademark shows: Arrow, Supernatural, iZombie, Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.  In any case, watching the cast get teary while announcing the news got me. Carry on, wayward sons!

–Priyanka Chopra shot down rumours that she’s mad at Meghan Markle for not attending her wedding.

-In honour of Reese Witherspoon‘s birthday, Jennifer Garner posted a video of herself playing sax. There was a costume and everything.

-If you invite Glenn Close to your house for Christmas, she might show up dressed like a sheep. And everyone will just roll with it because she’s Glenn freakin’ Close.

–Diane Kruger opened up about the end of her relationship with Joshua Jackson in a new interview. “I was in such a dark place. I had two really close family deaths that year, I was separating from my partner of 10 years. There was just a lot of darkness and personal loss.”

–David Letterman says he regrets the last part of his Late Show tenure. “Here’s the mistake I made: I stayed on television way too long. It turns out that nobody had the guts to fire me, and I should’ve left 10 years ago.”

-The entire cast of Parks and Rec reunited today for a Paley Fest panel and confirmed that we shouldn’t get our hopes up for a reboot.

-I am never going to see Jordan Peele‘s new movie, Us. Not ever, because I’m a big chicken. But this article on what the ending could mean is really well done. (Spoilers, obvs.)

-Kate Beckinsale just deleted all her Instagram posts, which is a shame because they were reliably delightful. I blame Pete Davidson.

-Speaking of delightful IG feeds, Michelle Pfeiffer knows what she’s doing.

-Netflix is shuffling episode orders, but denies it’s basing it on your sexual identity. That’s not terrifying at all.

-Meanwhile, I like this article on whether or not Netflix can take over the world without turning evil. Let’s hope!

-Netflix is debuting Unicorn Store on April 5, directed by and starring Brie Larson. It debuted last year at TIFF and people seemed to think it was twee but good.
