-According to a new Deadline report, Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway are furious with Serenity’s film distributor after it posted the worst opening weekend numbers of their careers. They agreed to do a press blitz to save the film, but the distributor reportedly didn’t follow through with the accompanying marketing spend. Come to think of it, I don’t ever remember seeing a trailer or ad for it. It just came on my radar when critics started trashing its twist ending.

-Meanwhile, Ariana got a Japanese tattoo on her palm that she thought spelled “7 rings” but actually spells “BBQ grill.” At least she’s laughing about it.
-Newly unsealed documents in Kesha’s ongoing legal battle with Dr. Luke show that Lady Gaga stood firm in her support of the singer during a September 2017 deposition. This part where she told off Dr. Luke’s lawyer made me cheer: “Why on earth would this girl tell the entire world that this happened? Why on earth? Do you know what it’s like for survivors? Do you know what it’s like to tell people? Don’t you roll your eyes at me. You should be ashamed of yourself.”
-Universal is the first studio to accept the 4% challenge to hire women directors.
-The set of NCIS: New Orleans continues to be overrun with issues. An exec producer on the show, Adam Targum, has been fired. Sources told Vulture that Targum “bullied” people on set and that the HR department was told that several members of the writing staff had issues with him.

No one’s going to touch this Red Sonja movie with a 10-ft pole.
-In another depressing twist, Singer stands to make $40 million off Bohemian Rhapsody, even though the film’s entire Oscar campaign is built around trying to make everyone forget he is the credited director.
-I really like this casting announcement for Netflix’s You. She was great in The Haunting of Hill House.
