Amy Poehler's Directorial Debut Features Everyone You Love

-I can’t even tell what Amy Poehler‘s directorial debut is about from this clip, but I’m so, so, so in! (According to THR, it follows a group of girlfriends who go to Napa to celebrate a 50th birthday.) But look at that cast!

Bill Hader revealed that John Mulaney whispered “My girlfriend works at Yoshinoya Beef Bowl” during this weekend’s Stefon skit, which is why he broke so hard. I once read an oral history of SNL and Hader said that the reason he always breaks during the Stefon segments is because Mulaney adds last-minute jokes to the cue cards, and Hader is reading them for the first time on air.

-The Crown producers have apologized for dragging Claire Foy and Matt Smith into the salary disparity mess.

Sean Penn is writing a novel that will reportedly incorporate the Me Too movement. So I guess we’re all just forgetting about the allegations that he tied Madonna to a chair and beat her with a bat, then?

Demi Lovato opened up to Dr. Phil about how she contemplated suicide when she was only 7 years old.

John Oliver’s bunny book is handily outselling the Pence bunny book and it makes me SO HAPPY. I bought a copy for my niece and it’s on backorder.

Ellen DeGeneres interviewed Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue and tried to get them to admit they’re dating. It didn’t work.

Idris Elba has created a sitcom about growing up in 1980s Britain. I’m so very curious to see how this turned out. I mean, I love the man (so very, very much) but “funny” is not a word I’d typically associate with him.

Jenna Dewan Tatum and the hot guy from Looking in a new TV show together? Yes, please!

-72-year-old rocker Don McLean is dating a 24-year-old, which is not gross at all.

-Oh goodie. Kevin Federline is back in the news. Well, we had a good decade of peace.

-Are Stars retiring from touring? I don’t want to believe it.

Bill Murray took a nap in the middle of the SXSW panel for Isle of Dogs.  Murray’s gonna Murray…

-It’s crazy that the CW will probably renew Dynasty, even though it’s pulling in the most dismal ratings (0.1 in the demo)! But it makes lots of money internationally, so that’s what matters now.

-Why are people always surprised with faith-based movies do well? Every. Single. Time.

-Speaking of the movie biz, this is a bullshit article. It’s been clear that tent pole blockbusters aren’t going to save the industry for ages now. Blaming it on Black Panther sucks.

-I really liked this article on how romance novels are some of the most progressive and political works of fiction out there these days. I’m doing a thing this year where I’m trying to read books with non-white or non-cis leads, and that’s always the easiest genre to find stuff.

-The Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm and Ed Helms intro to the new Tag trailer is funnier than the trailer itself. I still can’t believe this movie is actually happening, let alone that it also stars Jake Johnson, Rashida Jones, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb, and Hannibal Buress.
