Ben Affleck Jokes About “Garish” Back Tattoo

Ben Affleck’s response to the New Yorker’s “The Great Sadness of Ben Affleck” might be the closest we’re ever going to get of him talking about that terrible back tattoo. I’m ok with that.

Sarah Jessica Parker just posted a supportive Instagram message for Cynthia Nixon, so not *everyone* from SATC hates each other.

Tiffany Haddish says she won’t reveal #WhoBitBeyoncé because she signed an NDA. Kinda seems like that NDA should have kicked in a bit earlier, no?

John Kricfalusi, the creator of Ren & Stimpy, has been accused of grooming/dating teenage fans, and his official statement blames mental illness. What the hell?

Ryan Seacrest‘s accuser has filed a police report. He says he’ll cooperate with the LAPD.

-Really wish Jennifer Aniston’s first post-divorce career move wasn’t an Adam Sandler murder mystery on Netflix…

-I gave up on Brooklyn Nine-Nine but this clip of Sterling K Brown’s appearance might lure me back!

-If you’ve been reading blind items, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that Smallville star Allison Mack is thought to be second in command at a sex cult.

-I love this ode to the City of Angels soundtrack. “Iris is the Jordan Catalano of songs.”

-Yet another reason why I have no interest in watch the Roseanne reboot: Donald Trump called Roseanne Barr to congratulate her on her show’s massive ratings. I’m with Chrissy Teigen on this one.

-Game of Thrones and Narcos star Pedro Pascal just joined Wonder Woman 2.

-The Ready Player One cast was quizzed about their Steven Spielberg movie knowledge and Lena Waithe crushed it.

-Fans of the Serial podcast: Adnan Syed has been granted a new trial.

Mark Consuelos  hit back at trolls body-shaming Kelly Ripa over her bikini pic (in which she looked ah-maz-ing).

-What better way to kick off a long weekend than with Chris Pine in overalls?

Ethan Hawke and Amanda Seyfried get spiritual in the First Reformed trailer.

Dawson’s Creek Cast Reunites for EW

dawsons-creek-reunion

-EW’s Dawson’s Creek reunion was the gift that kept on giving today. The four different covers! The photo shoot! The hour-long video interview with the cast! The GIFs! The quiz! The definitive proof that Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps are soulmates! Totally bliss.

-The Roseanne reboot debut last night and the ratings were insanely, staggeringly good — 18.2 million total viewers and a 5.1 demo. (For comparison, Will & Grace returned to 10M viewers and a 3.0 in the demo.) It set a ton of ratings records, including being the biggest sitcom telecast in three years. It even got bigger ratings that its series finale 10 years ago. So basically, expect TV studios to be rebooting every 90s show they can think of now…

-I liked this thread on how the show offers an unrealistic depiction of a Trump supporter.

Donald Glover’s animated Deadpool series isn’t happening, and he doesn’t seem very happy about it.

These excerpts from Sean Penn’s new book can’t be real. And it includes a poem about #MeToo? Seriously, this can’t be happening.

-In a new BBC documentary, R. Kelly’s ex-girlfriend claims he “trained” a 14-year-old girl to be his sex slave. I don’t understand how we’re in the age of Time’s Up and yet his house has yet to be raided.

-So it’s possible that Corey Feldman wasn’t actually stabbed this morning after all?

-On Dax Shepard’s podcast (who knew that was a thing?!), Anna Faris says she regrets pretending to have a perfect marriage  on social media. “We intentionally cultivated this idea of like, ‘Look at this beautiful family.’ There were so many moments that were like that, but like anything on social media, you don’t post like, ‘Where the fuck is the toilet paper?’ or whatever. I think it’s a very hard forum to be genuine, and I think it does a disservice to people to not be.”

-I loved this thread on actors who are really good at making you believe in a romcom because of THE LOOK.

-Remember how Armie Hammer failed to get an Oscar nom and then he spent the next few months in sad-looking tracksuits? He says he’s moving on.

-I keep forgetting that The Americans returns tonight.  The reviews say the final season is great.

Amal Clooney is coming to Toronto for Luminato.

Amandla Stenberg is a teen with superpower in the The Darkest Minds trailer.

Christina Aguilera Is Makeup-Free and Gorgeous in Paper

Christina Aguilera Make Up Free Paper Magazine Cover

Christina Aguilera looks amazing on the new cover of Paper magazine.

Chrissy Teigen implied that she knows who bit Beyonce. TELL US!!

-Apparently people are falling asleep in Wes Anderson‘s new movie Isle of Dogs, which doesn’t bode well.

-Every since it started streaming on Hulu, everyone on my Twitter feed is talking about ER again. I love that it’s having a second life.

-After the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office confirmed that his case was under review, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick removed all sexual assault denials from his social media accounts.

-Nickelodeon ended its relationship with children TV super-producer Dan Schneider, and now everyone is bracing for  some stories to come out.

-A new report from Vulture says Phil Lord and Chris Miller shot “more than 30 takes” for some scenes on Solo: A Star Wars Story, and a first assistant director had to step in and handle directing duties on some of the scenes due to their lack of preparation. Also, when Ron Howard came onboard there were reportedly no script changes; he just did “scene for scene do-overs” of what they’d already shot. But sure Hollywood, keep handing the keys for blockbuster franchises to inexperienced dudes instead of women who could actually get it right the first time…

Sean Penn‘s cigarette-puffing, grumpy appearance on Colbert reminded me why I really, really dislike Sean Penn.

-As if that wasn’t enough, he also talked crap about ex-wife Robin Wright on Marc Maron’s podcast: “We don’t have a lot of conversation. We don’t not get along…And as it turned out, she and I did not share the same ethical views on parenting, including the continuing parenting of adult children.”

-I love this article on how NBC’s new show Rise shows us how not to be a male ally. I watched the second episode and I couldn’t believe how terrible Josh Radnor‘s character is — or how this show possibly came from the same guy who did Friday Night Lights and Parenthood.

-Even if Emily Blunt says she can’t do it for awhile, I’m actually pretty psyched that Tom Cruise is trying to pull together an Edge of Tomorrow sequel. That movie deserved way more attention than it got.

Leonard Nimoy‘s son married Star Trek: DS9 star Terry Farrell, which is all kinds of great.

-At the Riverdale panel at PaleyFest, a brave young fan asked Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart if they are dating. (Isn’t this common knowledge? Or perhaps not everyone follows Vancouver paparazzi twitter gossip like I do.)

-On the one hand, I’ve heard that the last half of Avengers: Infinity War is basically a Black Panther sequel, which sounds amazing. On the other hand, there’s reports that the film rests on Vision and Scarlet Witch’s romance, which is much less amazing.

-I saw Love, Simon in theatres last weekend and was totally charmed by it. So was Kristen Bell, apparently. She bought out a theater so as many people as possible could see it.

Ed Norton‘s production company is being sued over the death of a fireman on the set of his new movie.

-Here’s Brie Larson training for her Captain Marvel role. Yes, she’s doing a close grip and yes, she’s using her legs, but it took me two years at the gym to manage three of these. Two years!

-This is a really good examination of the Ready Player One backlash and how to view it in the context of our post-GamerGate world.

Ed Harris and Jason Sudeikis embark on a grumpy road trip in the trailer for Netflix’s Kodachrome.
