Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader Are Dating

-Over the weekend, I sent my friend DeuxMoi’s item about how Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader are rumoured to be dating, because them as a couple just makes so much sense to me. People has now confirmed it, with sources saying they’ve been “quietly” dating for more than a year and “she’s really happy.” The costarred in the 2019 Disney+ Christmas movie Noelle.

–Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes are fueling reconciliation rumors after she publicly supported his new music.

-Buffy star Charisma Carpenter has responded to recent remarks made by Joss Whedon, calling him “a former tyrannical narcissistic boss who is still unable to be accountable and just apologize.”

–Tom Holland is reportedly in the running to be the 2022 Oscar host. I don’t hate this. He’s got the biggest movie of the year, and we know from his Rihanna lip sync that he’s game for anything.

–Sia says she was suicidal and entered rehab following the outrage over her feature directorial debut, Music. Kathy Griffin defended her, saying “the attacks she received were because of kind of sexism, ageism and misogyny”, though autistic people who got caught in the crossfire aren’t buying it.

-I don’t have a lot of interest in a series based on Fatal Attraction — or at least I didn’t until Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan were cast as the leads.

–Pamela Anderson and her fourth husband are splitting after one year of marriage.

–Robert Pattinson‘s The Batman is 2 hours and 47 minutes long – without credits. What are we doing here, guys?

–Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz are joining their One Tree Hill costar Sophia Bush in an upcoming episode of her new CBS show, Good Sam. I love that these three are still so tight but also, what great marketing. If my TL is any indication, OTH love still runs deep.

-The White Lotus is heading to Sicily for its second season.

-Season two of Upload (starring the good Amell) debuts on March 11. I really liked the first one.

-Crews on film and TV shows are worried about how lax covid protocols have gotten.

-The reviews of The Gilded Age are good, but with Carrie Coon and Christine Baranski starring, I’m going to watch it either way.

-Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt fights back against her abusive ex (Michiel Huisman) in the trailer for the six-episode phycological thriller Angela Black.

–Anne Hathaway and a barely recognizable Jared Leto tell the story of WeWork in the trailer for Apple TV’s new limited series, WeCrashed.

-It’s a big day for the young ‘uns in Hollywood. The Hollywood Reporter announced it’s New Hollywood A-list, featuring Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rege-Jean Page and more. Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo is on the cover of Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood Issue, which also features Lil Nas X and Gossip Girl’s Thomas Doherty. (The 90s styling for all these photo shoots is breaking my brain.)

-Meanwhile, Variety’s Q&A portion with Lil Nas X is worth a read. The talks about meeting guys on Grindr, why people shouldn’t make jokes about bottoming, and how he’s met “the one.”

-In news that should surprise no one, David Schwimmer‘s rep is shooting down that sketch report that he’s dating Jennifer Aniston.

–Dolly Parton has co-authored a novel with James Patterson, because there’s nothing she can’t do!

-Jeopardy announced Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik are splitting host duties. Richards will host the daily syndicated program (shady lawsuits be damned) and Bialik will host prime time specials and spinoffs

-A new Netflix YouTube series interviews mothers about their famous children. Anyone else find it weird that Netflix has series on Youtube? Like, don’t you already have a streaming service for that?

-“The female gaze is a Career Maker” is so, so true, which makes actors shying away from romcoms odd. Even recently, I feel like Glen Powell, Noah Centineo, and Jacob Elori all became buzzy only after being in a romcom.

-Speaking of Elori, Kissing Booth 3 is getting unsurprisingly bad reviews. Still gonna watch it and hate myself after…

–Hilary Swank has settled her suit against SAG-AFTRA after being denied health coverage for treatment of endometriosis and ovarian cysts.

–50 Cent says DaBaby is going to be just fine. “As long as he keeps the consistency with the music, he’ll be back. Remember they cancelled Chris Brown like five or six times?”

–Justin Bieber is leading the MTV VMAs with seven nominations, followed by Megan Thee Stallion with six nods.

-I keep forgetting that Brett Goldstein not only plays Roy Kent on Ted Lasso, but he’s also a writer on the show. He says his favourite scene is one he didn’t write or star in: when Rebecca confesses to Ted.

–Lea Michele trended today because there’s a Funny Girl revival happening and everyone is wondering how she’s feeling that she wasn’t cast in it — Beanie Feldstein was.

-Congrats to Sophia Bush, who announced her engagement. I love that they did a whole photo shoot in Lake Como.

-Meanwhile, the ladies of OTH are doing a podcast rewatch, we means we’re suddenly getting new dirt on a show that went off the air in 2012. Sophia Bush says talking about her ex-husband and former costar Chad Michael Murray is “not worth my time,” adding “Oh, I’m not going to talk about him. I’m not allowed to because I’ve tried to poke fun at being a dumb kid and whenever I’ve done that, it gets twisted into I’m talking s— about somebody who I don’t even know anymore, who’s clearly a grownup.”  I still remember how crazy it was to be in Toronto when Murray was shooting House of Wax with Paris Hilton and all the crazy sightings/rumours flying around.

-Fans of Dan Levy raised $5ok for the Faculty of Native Studies at UofA, and he took to Instagram to express his awe and admiration.

-Here’s the season two trailer for The Other Two, one of my favourite comedies from last year. Between this and The White Lotus, I’m so here for the Molly Shannon renaissance!

-Showtime released the trailer for its upcoming docuseries Gossip, about celeb coverage. The trailer focuses on Rupert Murdoch and Page Six’s Cindy Adams, but I hope it also has an episode devoted to Janice Min, who I think had the biggest impact on who gets covered and how.

-The trailer for Nic Cage’s Prisoners Of The Ghostland is as odd as you’d expect.

–Jennifer Lopez celebrated turning 52 by showing off her insane body in a series of photos — one of which included Ben Affleck. He was also featured in Leah Remini‘s bday tribute video. This has all led to lots of (justifiable) chatter about how quickly she’s made him hot by association.

–Sarah Ferguson appears on the cover of Town & Country and talks about not being invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s wedding (“I didn’t think I was probably worthy to go to their wedding. I took myself to Thailand, actually, to be far away from it so that I could try and heal”), how she was portrayed in the tabloids (“It was always that Diana was portrayed as the saint and I was portrayed as the sinner. Bad Fergie sold an awful lot of papers”) and her thoughts on Diana (“I believe that Diana would be so proud of her boys…and she’d be so proud of her grandchildren”).

-Meanwhile, the royal line of succession has been updated to officially include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s daughter Lilibet Diana.

-I go away for a week and now Jason Sudeikis and Irina Shayk might be a thing?

-Most people didn’t even know that Issa Rae was in a longterm relationship – let alone that she was about to drop some surprise wedding pics. The dress is much more traditional that I would have guessed, but Vera Wang is back to being all the rage these days.

–Anna Faris also had a secret wedding.

–Jamie Lynn Spears keeps trying to set the record straight about where she stands with sister Britney Spears, and keeps making it worse.

-Meanwhile, Britney and her lawyers laid out their case in new legal docs as to why her father should be removed as conservator of her estate. I’m surprised she filed a petition to replace him rather than end the conservatorship altogether, but that’s probably coming.

-Covid-related delays is cost a lot of productions money — but it might cost The Morning Show more than most. Their insurance company doesn’t want to cover all the delays, triggering a $44M lawsuit.

-Speaking of Apple+ shows, Ted Lasso’s season two premiere drew lots of eyeballs.

-If you follow writer Twitter, you’d know that there’s a lot of chatter about how little assistants are getting paid in Hollywood. Sophia Bush says that on Chicago PD, the PAs were only getting $500/week.

–Pink offered to pay a 1,500-Euro fine issued to Norway’s beach handball team after the women wore athletic shorts instead of bikini bottoms to protest against sexism.

-I always thought LFO seemed like just another boy band at the time but the story behind them is surprisingly tragic.

–Angelina Jolie got a big win in her custody battle against Brad Pitt.

-This oral history of Clifford, the 1994 comedy about a deranged little boy played by Martin Short, made me realize how beloved this weird little movie is. The part where Nic Cage can’t get through talking about a scene because he’s laughing to hard remembering it is gold.

-Here’s the first full trailer for the Dexter reboot. There’s no way this thing is going to be good, but I can feel myself getting sucked in solely on morbid curiosity.

–Nicole Kidman, Michael Shannon and Melissa McCarthy star in the trailer for the upcoming Hulu show Nine Perfect Strangers.
